Situated North of Phalaborwa, adjacent to the world famous Kruger National Park, the farm Silonque Sisters was a founder member of the Silonque Nature Conservancy. A wide variety of wild life exists naturally in close contact and at peace with a permanent human presence.

Bed in the Bush was established to add and contribute towards the Conservation efforts of the farm Silonque Sisters. Comfortable and unique accommodation was developed from the old cattle farm structures in a blend of African and European qualities and styles.

From the Main House you look out over the greatest wilderness in the world. Like a mystical pyramid, Piene - an ancient archaeological site, sits peacefully in a horison of constantly changing landscapes of colour. Spectacular sun and moon rises, cool misty mornings, hot sun filled days, dramatic thunderstorms and million of stars: all forms part of this magical place. The Main House is a welcoming oasis that soon lures you into a relaxing mode, ready to pass out to the harmonious sounds of the African bush. The 5 large en-suite bedrooms are all open out onto deep shadowed verandas, providing luxurious spaces and atmosphere in which to let the bush go by. Positioned on a high rise in the otherwise flat lowveld landscape, spectacular Sun and Moon rises are experienced. Breakfast, BBQ and Table d’hôte available.

Waterbuck, bushbuck, impala and warthogs are your neighbours, over 200 different bird species are spotted on the Farm. Bed in the Bush is a Birder Friendly Establishment. Joseph, the manager, is also a qualified bird/bush guide who loves to show you the uniqueSilongue bushveld.

An unusual pottery project, Afrikania, is run from the Silonque Sisters Farm. Based on art elements from cultural heritage of the area, pottery of distinction is produced by local artists trained in the art of decorating with patterns discovered on the brink of extinction.
Recognised for its high quality and unique features, items produced have become collectors items not to be missed.
