Pension Idube is an informal, relaxed guesthouse catering for the new age backpackers and travellers, who have gone beyond the "dorm" stage and enjoy their creature comforts, without blowing the budget. Suitable accommodation for interns, researchers and volunteers.

Pension Idube is located within walking distance to the University of Johannesburg , Wits Business School, Milpark Campus and the South African Broadcasting Corp. Being only about 5km from the city centre and Wits University, its only a short hop on the bus (bus stop is 100m down the road. Entertainment and eateries are ample on 7th Street,only a short walk from the Pension.

Welcome to trendy Melville, the artists quarter of Johannesburg, famous for its pavement cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries, craft shops and nightlife. Melville/Auckland Park is within close proximity to Braamfontein, the home of Wits University and many of the NGO’s All the buses from Melville and the West Rand lead to Braamfontein.

Facilities consist of a sun drenched pool and patio area, fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, laundry service available if required and TV lounge. A light breakfast is included and tea/coffee tray is on hand in each room. We have rooms with a private bathroom and rooms with a shared bathroom. Our rates are:
from R 165 ppspn for a shared room with use of communal bathroom,
from R 210 ppspn for an en-suite room

Security is always of paramount importance and usually of great interest. The property is fully walled with plenty of off road parking. We retain the services of an armed response company who immediately respond should any of the panic buttons be activated. This may sound a little on the dramatic side, but is a common place security measure here, which naturally gives to peace of mind.
