The Water Tower accommodates you in a circular double-storey double room with kitchenette, own bathroom and interesting past life. This quirky building was once a water tower and then a meditation room. With whitewashed walls and wooden floors, it is a calm, clean space from which to enjoy the famous Bethesda night skies.

The Tower sleeps two and has its own fully equipped kitchennette and electricity. It sits in a pleasant garden in the heart of Nieu Bethesda. You can sip sundowners in the garden and watch the sky fill with stars, treat yourself to the home-made bread and cottage cheese, or braai some delicious Karoo lamb, hire bikes and explore the Karoo, and book tours to Bushman Paintings, Fossil walks, The Mountain Zebra Park and The Valley of Desolation.

Things to do:
- A visit to Helen Martins’ Owl House is a must. Up close her weirdly wonderful Karoo house (preserved as it was when she died in the 1970s) is as intriguing as the famous Camel Yard, with its strange concrete sculptures. 
- Take a hike east out of town, past the spring, down the Gats River gorge to a number of hidden swimming pools. Few people ever do this – it’s a local thing – and the chances of seeing anyone else on the outing is remote.
- The Bethesda Arts Centre is a working studio in Miller Street with a good selection of local crafts as well as original art.
