Areena Riverside Resort is situated on the banks of the Kwelera tidal river, 23 km's east of East London city centre, at the beginning of the Cape Wild Coast. 
The dream of Ed and Karen Rathbone to have a unique family resort became a reality some 23 years ago and soon grew from strength to strength.  After a lot of hard work and dedication, the Caravan Park en Camping was voted S.A. Top Resort 2004, after gaining public interest and became the hideout for those wanting to experience quality family time in the heart of nature.  

Our caravan and tent sites are well grassed, shady and well protected from the wind. All have 10amp/15amp electrical plug points. There are 5 ablution blocks with bath, shower and toilets and hot/cold water and 1 Private ablution.

All our rates are inclusive of 4 persons, electricity and VAT. We allow max. 6 persons per site.Out of season:
Family of 4 persons - R250 per day
Extra persons - R50 per day
2 Persons only - R150 per day
Pensioners - R110 per day, 2 persons Only!

April school holidays / Easter weekend
Family of 4 persons - R330 per day
4 days or longer - 10% discount
Extra persons - R55 per day
No reduced rates for pensioners

December/ January - deposit 50% of total costs of stay
Family of 4 persons
11 Dec. - 8 Jan. - R390 per day/ R440 Riversite
Extra persons - R65 per day

Areena Riverside Resort is exceptionally safe for children and unique in it's surroundings due to the natural environment provided by the tidal river where children and adults spend hours fishing, crabbing and swimming in the full view of the sites. We offer a swimming pool, volleyball and tennis court and  entertainment area.

An entertainment program is arranged for the Christmas Season, from about the 19th December until about the 3rd January. We do this at Easter as well.
