Kruger National Park, South Africa’s best known wildlife conservation area, is one of the best safari destinations in the world; the sounds and scents of the bush are never more than a few meters away. The Big 5 are the main attraction, but you will come eye to eye with many other animals. The birdlife in this part of Africa is prolific, the diversity in landscape breathtaking.

For a change of scenery, this tour takes you to Mozambique, a beautiful country with some of the best beaches, coral reefs and turquoise waters in the whole of Africa.

The beauty and infinite variety of this region will not only delight all who visit, but will entice you to come back again and again.

Flanked by the Makalakwena River and the Limpopo River, Bivack Game Lodge has been described as one of the most beautifull and wildest places in the world. From the hippos and elephants in the riverine forests, to Eagles Rock high up on the hill overlooking the river valley, each turn in the bush offers excitement and anticipation for what may appear next.

For those who
enjoy fishing, take some time to catch some yellow fish, tilapia, mackerel or tiger fish at one of the many spots along the rivers. Or just relax at the lodge’s uniquely mopani pool and soak up the bushveld in the warm African sunshine.

Accommodation in the Lodge includes all meals, tea and coffee. Also included are 1 game drive and 1 safari walk.

Day 8/9 : Alldays—Kruger National Park—Punda Maria or Shingwedzi Camp ( ca. 250 km—325 km)

You will pass Vivo, Makhado and Thohoyandou, the main towns of the Venda region, on your way to Kruger National Park. You enter the park at Punda Maria gate.

The park is reputed to have the greatest variety of animals of any park of the continent. The park's excellent infrastructure makes everything readily accessible. Since many of the animals are used to the presence of cars , it's often possible to observe them from within close range.

Kruger is at its best in the far north, around Punda Maria and Pafuri. Here, although animal concentrations are somewhat lower, the bush setting and wilderness atmosphere are all-enveloping. The birdlife in this area is abunded, especially along the Luvuvhu river.

Accommodation in the park is Self Catering, all main camps have restaurants.

  Day 10/11 : Punda Maria—Letaba ( ca. 180 km )

The idyllic Letaba Rest Camp is situated on a sweeping bend of the Letaba River, midway between the southern and northern boundaries of the Kruger National Park. The name means “river of sand”, and the sandy riverbed is an excellent location for game viewing, particularly elephant, which thrive in the area. Letaba is a green oasis in the surrounding mopane veld, and remains a firm favourite with visitors.

Day 12/13/14/15 : Letaba Camp—Giriyondo—Mozambique ( ca. 550 km )

You depart for the Giriyondo Border Post, on the western boundery of the Kruger National Park. You head towards the impressive Massengir Dam, experiencing local culture in the many villages you drive past on the way. You have to keep going however, as the coastline of Mozambique awaits you!

The next three days you will spend at Zongoene Lodge near Xai Xai, situated at the Limpopo River mouth and overlooking pristine white beaches and the Indian Ocean. Welcome to paradise!

At Zongoene you can opt to enjoy a quad bike adventure, a whale tour, fish the tidal estuary, snorkel or dive, do some birding or even discover massive sand dunes and deserted beaches on foot.

The riverfront is beautifully kept and guests can enjoy relaxing walks along the river
, fishing and hiking through the riverbank forests, enjoy a game of golf on the beautifull course nearby or take a day trip to Swaziland.

Crocodile Bridge gate is the nearest entrance to the southern part of Kruger, this area is teeming with wildlife.

Day 18/19 : Komatipoort—White River ( 150 km )

White River is a green, pleasant village in the Lowveld, dating back to the days of the Anglo-Boer war. White River is well placed for visiting the Panorama Route. Highlights are the 3 Rondavels, God’s Window, Bourke Luck’s Potholes, Pilgrim’s Rest and many waterfalls.

Day 20 : White River—Dullstroom ( ca. 125 km )

Dullstroom is a chic, attractive town in the heart of trout country. It is surrounded by rolling hills and studded with rocky outcrops and small lakes. It excudes the ambience of a genteel English country estate. If you are an angling aficionado, this is the place to be.

Try your hand at the fine art of Fly Fishing or spend the last day wandering the streets and shops of this charming little town.
The last night of your trip is spent in one of the many restaurants enjoying dinner or at the lodge, situated in a beautiful setting between mountains and river.

Accommodation is on B&B basisin a secure and scenic country estate with river walks, a wetland and birdhide, a mountain hike and rustling pine forests.
There are numerous destinations on the property where guests can picnic or barbecue in an idyllic setting, and a swim in a river pool is an invigorating experience.

Day 21: Dullstroom - Johannesburg ( ca. 200 km )

It is time to leave the fly-fishing capital of Mpumalanga behind and head for Johannesburg to hand in the car.

Time to say goodbye, or perhaps you will continue your holiday with a new adventure....
