White Elephant private Bush Camp is situated in the beautiful Pongola Game Reserve in Northern Zululand. The Game Reserve lies on the western side of the majestic Lebombo Mountains and the shores of the spectacular Lake Jozini.

White Elephant Bush Camp offers an alternative escape in seven spacious thatched chalets with ceiling fans and mosquito nets, which are generously spacious with private verandahs and spectacular views. Magical moon rises, Africa’s hues, uncomplicated dining and traditional bush comforts add to the serenity and harmony with nature.

Beautiful views, glorious sunsets, prolific wildlife, therapeutic silence, brilliant bird life, excellent tigerfishing, game drives and guided walks, ensure that there is something to interest everyone. Guests may also participate in our exciting elephant tracking programme for “close encounters of the elephant kind” or rhino walks. Lodge facilities include a boma/lapa, swimming pool and private water hole with viewing hide as well as an open-air dining area.

White Elephant Bush Camp can accommodate up to 16 guests within the following:

Chalet 1 en-suite bedroom “Honeymoon suite” (A ball’n claw bath has been placed under an old Maroela tree some distance into the bush from the Honeymoon suite. Hot and cold water is on tap and the bath has been screened by a woven-stick “wall” (in traditional Zulu style) to ensure total privacy.

Chalet 2-4 twin beds, en-suite shower.

Chalet 5-6 twin beds, en suite shower and bath. An extra bed for a child or a camping cot can be placed in these rooms.

Chalet 7 family unit, en suite shower. Twin beds in main room, 2 x single beds in children’s adjoining room and camping cot on request.

White Elephant Bush Camp is an escape from the busy hurried world, a exclusive bushveld retreat with a tranquil beauty that invites visitors to return time and again.

Min booking fee of R 3 200.00/ night for the Camp on a private hire basis. Covers accommodation for 8 people. From 9 people up we then charge a per person rate of R 360.
Children: R180 per child (under 12) per night
Children under 3 FREE Cook: R150 per day (advance notification essential) Guide & Vehicle: (Game Drive) R100 pp (minimum fee R600 per game drive)
Guide & Boat: (Boat Cruise) R150 pp (minimum fee R600 per boat)
Guided Walks R100 per walk (minimum of 2 guests per guided walk)
Canoeing R150 per double canoe (double canoe maximum 3 canoes)

Rate includes: Accommodation, daily housekeeping services, V.A.T.

Rate excludes: Meals, beverages, telephone & fax, laundry service, personal purchases, all activities, additional activities (marked * below), transfers to and from the camp, and R20 (R50 after hours: 18h00-6h00) gate entrance fee (per vehicle) payable at the gate.
