This beautiful private reserve offers spectacular scenery and amazing bio-diversity (Natural Heritage Site). Scenic bush trails, game viewing and bird watching may be undertaken on foot, by horse, 4X4 vehicle or your own quad/mountain bike. Apart from being a top birding destination with 224 species recorded, encounters with a variety of antelope species are common and leopard sightings are on the increase.

We are situated close to the inland town of Louwsburg between the pristine rolling hills of the Northern ‘Elephant Coast’ region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (Zululand – malaria free area). Being only 3km from Ithala Game Reserve, our overnight safari tents offer more affordable accommodation for travellers wishing to visit this – one of the province’s premier game reserves.

The Valley Camp is a place enjoyed most by people who value exclusivity and appreciate nature. It's not for people who want all the luxuries of a 'home away from home' when going on holiday. It's a true break from your reality... no electricity or TV's... just peace, quiet and tranquility... and of course a bit of adventure if you feel like it!Ideal for groups of friends and families! If you’re into absolute exclusivity… this is it! You can get the entire camp just for you and your party of up to 12 people!

Our secluded Bush Camp is rustic, charming, built of natural rock and thatch, and is tucked away in the valley next to a stream. You can get the entire lodge just for you and your party of up to 10 people! It’s secluded, rustic, charming, built of natural rock and thatch and is tucked away in a valley close to a stream. Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area with fireplace and a patio with magnificent view.

The lodge has one chalet with two rooms (sleeps 4 – one double bed and 2 singles), the other cottage, also with 2 rooms, sleeps 8 – one double bed and 6 singles. Both cottages have fully equipped bathrooms and outdoors braai areas. TEMPORARY tented accommodation to accommodate bigger groups can be arranged on request.

Being only 3kms from their main gate, the Tented Camp (currently sleeps 4 in two tents) offers more affordable accommodation for travellers wishing to visit Ithala Game Reserve, one of the premier KZN Wildlife reserves. If all goes according to plan, it will be completed towards the end of 2005 and sleep 16 people. Nightlife at the camp is quiet, apart from the sounds of Africa cloaked in darkness: the howling Jackal and eerie hoot of an Owl… things moving in the shadows around you… and if you’re lucky, the dominant male leopard letting us know that we are mere visitors to his territory. We offer great food and a wide range of activities (including a spectacular 50m abseil).
