We are the closest accomodation spot to the Hluhluwe/Imfolosi Game Reserve and provide the ultimate in game experience on 4X4 Safari. Situated next to the famous and incredible game reserve, we are calling the BIG 5 our neighbours. (2min to the main gate). Enjoy a stunning 360 panorama view into real, rural Zululand and at night you've got the sparkling star sky over your head and the giggle of hyenas in your ear.
We offer a very warm and homely atmosphere in a unique and peaceful environment. Hluhluwe Backpackers is set up in a very peacefull environment. Surrounded only by a few zuluhuts in a distance and the hills of the National Park.
Our Main house has comfortable dorms and cosy double room, nicely decorated. Our Outside Chalet with Double bed offers you lots of privacy. All units are new and stylish renovated, nicely and uniquely decorated and with rustic wooden furniture.
And for some more "adventure" we rent out 3 stationary parked caravans (as single, twin or double) with view into the park. We offer lots of space for camping and caravans (with light and plug points) in the shade of many Marula trees and the chamaeleon forest. Shower and toilets are always nearby.
Our kitchen is very well equipped with all cuttlery, crockery and utensils, there are gasstoves, fridge and freezer, microwave etc....and if you not in the mood for cooking, let us spoil you with one of our tasty homecooked meals.
The “park pub” with cold beers and range of drinks or the large garden/ outside area (Big Boma and Braai area) offers you ample space to relax.
There are lots of things to do and to see and we recommend you to join us on one of our OPEN VEHICLE GAME DRIVES into the Game Reserve conducted by professional Field Guides. (3 Hours, 6 Hours and Full Days available)
